A GUIDE TO UNDERSTANDING CBD
WHAT IS CBD?
CBD oil, or cannabidiol, is often misunderstood. CBD is not an oil of CBD, it's an oil that contains CBD. High-quality broad spectrum CBD/phytocannabinoid from hemp is a hard, resinous material and must be diluted in a suitable carrier oil to make it usable. NexxGen uses a high-quality USDA organic, virgin; both cold pressed & unrefined, hemp seed oil as the carrier for all phytocannabinoid hemp extracts. Our extract contains at least 85% CBD along with the other beneficial phytocannabinoids. The hemp seed oil also contains terpenoids, omega fatty acids, and many other phytonutrients to enrich and enhance the benefits of all NexxGen products.
CANNABIDIOL (CBD) COMMON QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
DOES CBD HAVE HEALTH BENEFITS?
There are many beneficial properties of CBD. Recent research and clinical studies have shown how CBD and phytocannabinoids may provide significant health benefits including easing pain related to chronic conditions such as sore muscles and painful joints, it may help reduce inflammation, decrease anxiety and depression in both humans and animals. CBD has also been linked to sleep disorders such as insomnia for providing a “better and more restful” sleep. Quality sleep improves the bodies natural ability to heal itself and provides a better overall feeling of wellness.*
IS IT SAFE TO USE CBD WITHOUT A DOCTOR'S PRESCRIPTION?
CBD is both generally safe and is a natural product. The quality of the CBD products you purchase is an important factor of how effective and beneficial it will be for you. NexxGen oils use the CBD/phytocannabinoid extract from organically grown hemp blended with organic virgin, cold pressed & unrefined, hemp seed oil. Although CBD is available in various forms, it’s important to discuss the use of CBD with your doctor or health care professional to determine your overall health status and medical history first, before planning the best course of action when using CBD/phytocannabinoid products.*
In short, THC interacts with the parts of your body that will get you “high,” while CBD is non-psychoactive. THC is the main psychoactive componenet of the cannabis plant that can cause altered abilities to control motor skills, driving impairment, an altered sense of sight, smell, fatigue, and hunger. CBD, on the other hand, is free of the harmful cognitive effects of THC. Various clinical studies have been shown that CBD may help with pain, inflamation, anxiety, depression, obesity and many more chronic diseases.*
WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CBD AND THC?
WILL CBD MAKE YOU "HIGH"?
CBD alone will not act as a psychoactive or make you high. Products labeled "full spectrum" often contain small amounts of THC (an active psychoactive ingredient in marijuana). Our NexxGen products are independant lab tested, broad spectrum CBD/phytocannabinoids that contain zero amounts of THC, meaning you won’t experience any sort of “high” feeling. It should be noted that “full-spectrum” products, with very small amounts of THC, will test positive on a drug screen. There are no such worries with NexxGen products.*
HOW DO YOU TAKE CBD?
There are a few different ways to take CBD depending on your needs. Most will take CBD either orally or through a topical application on the skin. Oral or sublingual ingestion is a beginner friendly way to start taking CBD and will lead to the best absorption. It can also be added to various foods and drinks as well. The spray is a good way to get a very precise dose easily. It not only creates a fine mist, to promote better absorption, but may be easier for people with physical barriers, such as poor eyesight or dexterity with their hands, to use. For joint pain or sore muscles, some may choose to apply CBD directly to the skin instead. There will be more detailed information about this in our suggested usage calculator & guidelines section.*
HOW DO YOU DOSE BROAD-SPECTRUM CBD?**^
The safest way to begin using CBD is to start at a low concentration (dose^) then increase the amount and/or how many times a day it is taken, as needed. There are multiple factors to be considered including body weight, the reason it is being taken & overall health status to name a few. It is important to remember that everyone reacts differently to anything; CBD being no exception. It should also be noted that some people may feel the desired results within a few days, others may need to take it for months to achieve their goals. Those using CBD to help with various joint, muscle and other discomforts may require much higher amounts and require a much longer period of use then those trying to have a more restful sleep. This may sound very confusing. The good news is we are here to help! Generally, Broad-Spectrum CBD products are very safe with few side effects. CBD has been shown in clinical studies to be a safe even at amounts exceeding 1000mg's daily. Please refer to our suggested usage calculators & guidelines to help determine the approximate amount of CBD that may be beneficial for both you & your pet.*
